Like Father, Like Son - the sequel

I could not remember what I was doing at that time last weekend. Suddenly hubby called me, excited about something.
'What?'
'Cuba tengok Umar. Psycho la pulak.' Hubby was giddy and all smiling.
No wonder....Umar was trying to assume hubby's favourite lounging pose, a pose that has been exhibited by his sisters too, Huda and Hayaa'. I managed to catch Huda (previous post) doing it on camera. Hayaa', masih tak berpeluang to snap a photo while she was doing it (will be a prequel if posted ngehehehe).
'Are you sure it's a genetic thing?' I asked hubby.
'Yelah kut? All the three kids dok buat.'
'Or is it a general traits in small kids, that you seems not to outgrow?'
'Ye ke...?' Hubby sounds annoyed...hehehee...ok makcik..stop teasing.

40s...Sesi Muhasabah Diri

Yesterday, I turned 39. According to tahun Masehi, I am not yet 40 but according to tahun Hijrah..I am already 40 huhuhhu which happened on 5th February (5 Rabiulakhir). A friend of mine, shared about Surah al Ahqaf, ayat 15 since most of us are going into the 4 series. The verse really caught my attention and made me pensive.

Terjemahan Surah Al Ahqaf Ayat 15 Terjemahan Dalam Bahasa Malaysia Tafsiran Ar-Rahman

Made me search more in the internet for verses which contains the word 'maturity' and found the following verses :

Terjemahan Surah Al Qasas Ayat 14 Terjemahan Dalam Bahasa Malaysia Tafsiran Ar-Rahman

'Dan tatkala Musa sampai ke peringkat umurnya yang cukup kekuatannya dan sempurna, Kami beri kepadanya kebijaksanaan serta ilmu pengetahuan dan demikian Kami membalas orang-orang yang berusaha memperbaiki amalannya.'

Terjemahan Surah Yusuf Ayat 22 Terjemahan Dalam Bahasa Malaysia Tafsiran Ar-Rahman

Another similar verse.

Actually, I have been thinking a lot lately about what I really want in my life, how I have lived it, how am I doing now, how am I going to live my life in the coming years. Why am I thinking so at this age? Was it a coincidence? I don't think so.
I am definitely not an expert on alQuran and its tafsiran, just a mere mortal trying (still trying) her best to be a good muslim. Looking at the connection between those verses above, I think that a person reaches maturity at the age of forty based on islamic perspective. And...and..and..Nabi Muhammad SAW became a prophet at the age of 40.
If I am truly maturing, then alhamdulillah. The famous saying that 'Life begins at forty' may ring true after all.
Hmmm...the doa from Surah al Ahqaf verse 15...I should incorporate it in my daily after solat prayers.

Choc Craze in the office

Happy mode ngehehehe...I've been consuming chocolate one papan after another papan for the past 1 week. Tak hengat dunia punya. I suspect it is because of stress...hmmm...work-related stress. There's this one new assignment, must complete it within 2 weeks. Stress...stress.
Hubby being out-station, more frequent than normal, is also not helping. Selalu nya hubby is the supir, so sendiri jadi supir and kena meranduk traffic jam pergi/balik kerja...bleghhh...oh yes, also I have to tuck-in the girls every night (ni hubby nye keje) and teman sampai depa tido. Disturb my sleeping pattern a bit.
So, not surprising, I turn to my feel good food. Sayaaaaaaangg ko chocolate oii...And people are stopping by my cubicle to pau the chocolate. Not that I mind, spread the love heh? The love for chocolate. Yang best nya, yang lain2 pun start to have chocolate bars on their desk. Time for me to pau their chocolate...nyumm!!
Not in the picture..Cadbury bar..baru habis

Family run turned family running errand

We actually signed up Leo Run 2014 to join a family friend who was eager for a family run event. I was the one who highlighted about the run and naturally they signed up quite immediately. Me on the other hand, not so eager to join...my kids are not into this..yet. Sorang suka bangun lambat, lagi sorang would rather sit in a stroller and not truly enjoy the run. Baby tak tau apa, angkut je. Lagipun yg tak eager sgt, sebab we start to join Kelas Asas Haji every Sunday morning or go to Pasar Tani.
Hubby checked with me several time whether I have registered ourselves. Few days before the closing date, we officially signed up. We started to brainwash the kids about the event hohohoho...haiya..kena lah kan. Bukannya senang nak hambat bebudak ni bangun pagi and bersiap.
Dua2 budak tu dah mcm happy to join the family run...tapi at the end, kakak tak nak join..nak tido lagi. Pfftt...as expected. 5 members, down to 4. Just before we walk out of the door, the friend texted us. Tak jadi pergi...haiya..Honestly, I kind of expected this to happen too because penarikan diri seperti ini pernah berlaku.
We've spent the whole school holidays at my mom's and peti ais lengang youuu. Baby, tinggal di rumah dgn bibik and so, 3 members left. Sekian.
Tricked the friend that we are about to flag-off with this photo. Sajjjjaaa nak bg member rasa guilty
All is not lost. At least, ada hasil
Tgh tunggu makcik kira harga sayur2

Renewed sense of hope

Double...err...actually triple dose of the renewal.
1. When listening to Press Conference by the PM around 2pm today about the new phase of SAR for MH370. No evidence that the plane crashed/ exploded/ disintegrated and that the plane had flown northwest of Peninsular Malaysia.
2. When IPU in Shah Alam is improving bit by bit. Honestly, it feels like watching stock indices. MWM finally announced that the race is on. YEEAAAHHAA
3. When it rains in Shah Alam walaupun hujannya macam sempuut gitu, tapi tetap bersyukur.

Keep praying for 2 and 3. Praying harder for 1.

Penang Vacation 2014 - Part 2

When hubby ran Penang Bridge International Marathon 2013 last year, his friend brought him to Puncak Mutiara Cafe, a restaurant in Kampung Pelet, Bukit Mertajam. He was so impressed with the place, he promised to bring us there. So we went lah. And I likee. Sebabnya....tempat makannya ala2 gazebo style and I chose gazebo yang boleh duduk bersila. Yey...boleh letak baby Umar baring atas pangkin gazebo tuh. Freedom to eat, tak payah nak kendong2, dukung2 (eeee...rimas ooo...tak enjoy makan).

Sorry ye, mama nak mamam
Nasi briyani is the specialty. Agak steep jugak la price. Rambang jugak la mata nak milih menu. I settled for nasi briyani kambing grill. Hubby chose nasi briyani paha kambing. Bibik chose briyani ayam kampung goreng kunyit. Budak2? Briyani ayam goreng + fries ngeheheh. Tak boleh order yang exotic2 sgt kat budak2 ni, kang tak makan.

Macam2 ada kat sini. Rabbit farm, ostrich farm, goat farm. Tapi kitaorg pegi tgk goat farm je. Like 50m away from the tempat makan.
Macam2 species kambing ada. Quite a huge kandang, mak kambing, bapak kambing, anak kambing sumer ada. The kandang was clean and well-maintained.
I'm sooo cute & adorable ya?
Apa tengok2 ?
Awat? Minat my shoe ka? Nak match kan dgn bulu awak ke?

Hayaa enjoyed it so much, she wanted to go there again sebab nak melawat kambing2 tu. Bapaknya, bagi chan, we stopped for a while on our way back to KL.
Boleh laaaa...next time datang lagi to try other menu.

Penang Vacation 2014 Part 1 - Street Art

I had this ambitious plan to visit all the Street Arts by Ernest Zacharevic and took pictures during the recent CNY holidays. Had to revise the plan. Payah laaa pulak kerana....si Huda tak boleh duduk senyap2. She was restless, tak nak posing and restless menunggu kitaorg posing. Ye laaaa...bukannya kita sorang je nak bergambar. Tourist2 lain pun ada. Kena la take turn. Kadang2, ada kereta lah, motor lah, beca lah, orang lah dok lalu lalang. Bila dah restless tu, mula la Huda berlari sana sini, berlari nak lintas jalan, berlari masuk kedai. Peninn. Macam mana nak bergambar?...haishh. So we had to optimize and visit the most wanted aje.
'Boy on a Chair/ Reaching Up'. Huda is on the mural's chair
'Skippy, the Giant Cat'
'Children on the swing'
'Children Playing Basketball'
One of the Street Art - Welded iron wall caricature
Cute :)
Not sure if this is acknowledged as Georgetown's list of Street Art.
Upside down statue?
My favourite...ngehehehee

Of course with the most well-known Street Art 'Two Children on a Bicycle' at Lebuh Armenia
Both me & husband decided to do a thorough Georgetown heritage walk one day (bile nye ni...ntaaahh lee), just the 2 of us.
